Now some information about other dvd converters which we used and faced problems. The problems are described below and beware, you might also run into similar problems using them.

A) Avex DVD Ripper – See The Problems We Faced

1. This DVD Ripper converts dvd to avi and supports only 10 Formats. Given its price of $35, It supports really very less formats. We were able to convert the DVD To AVI Format, but the lack of formats really distracted us from the software.

2. In addition to this, when we inserted the DVD, We faced an error message saying - DVD Warning "The Decoder Doesn’t Support the new format. Playback may not continue." Not sure why the error message on the first run.

3. Individual Chapters are not Pre-viewable in this software and It is a big minus feature!

4. Even clicking on Next button to go to Next Chapter didn’t work. We clicked the button several times but nothing happened. Not worth considering for a review. In the five minutes of running the software, we faced many problems.

B) Aimersoft DVD Ripper – See What Happened

We were about to review the product after installation and very happy to see that It loaded the dvd very fast. It supports trim, crop and other effects but we couldn’t test anything due to a big problem.

As soon I selected the chapters for ripping, I went to select the format profile. Now If you keep scrolling down in the format drop down, the program crashes. The funniest thing I’ve ever seen. Go to Format combo box, select the top most format and keep pressed down arrow key of keyboard. The program will crash with an error message :-

“An error occurred, please uninstall and reinstall the program”

Tried this several times and faced same problem every time. Not worth for a review when we even didn’t run the software and rip dvd to avi or any other format.

C) Cucusoft Ultimate DVD Converter

We were able to use this DVD converter and we have reviewed it but we faced some problems with it. It converted the dvd to avi format successfully. The main problems we faced with this dvd to avi ripper :

1. As soon as you run the software, It fast forwards the DVD. When we inserted a DVD, It started fast forwarding the DVD and NEVER stopped. It showed an dialog box :

“Fast Forwarding to DVD Menu, please don’t close this window” Please wait a moment. Software is analyzing your DVD and fast forwarding to the DVD menu automatically.

Fast forwarding never stopped and I had to click on “Stop Fast Forwarding” button. Then the program started to behave strangely.

2. It doesn’t support playback of individual chapters. Though you can rip individual chapters. 3. If you preview the video and stop it, the video stops, but the timeline keep going on for five seconds. This is a bug in the software. 4. Merge feature not supported. If you rip many chapters to avi format, you can’t merge them!! 5. Crop feature is supported but not customizable as in Wondershare and Xilisoft. 6. User Interface is not very good and program flickers. Copyright is still 2007, not updated to 2008 yet.Now that you know everything about the best dvd rippers, you can try the DVD ripper you want by clicking on the links below.
